About the Item
This bracelet’s oval diamonds are magnificent, appearing even larger than rounds of the same carat weight but possessing just as much sparkle with 58 brilliant-cut facets. The design of the tennis bracelet has been minimalist for nearly the last 50 years since the name was coined in 1978 by Chris Evert at the US Open—and it has pretty much remained devoid of other ornamentation keeping the focus on the beauty of the stones. The uniformity amongst this bracelet’s elegant line of diamonds is a central feature to be admired.
Once called an eternity bracelet, and before that, a diamond line bracelet in the 1920s, the classic form is typically comprised of a single row of stones, most commonly diamonds, of all the same size, cut, and shape, set in individual prong mountings along a flexible strand. Some variation exists with respect to settings, including channel and bezel. More typically, the setting melts away, leaving the sparkling diamonds to carry the piece; however, in this example, the sunny gold reminds us of summer and time on the court, our tennis bracelet victoriously sparkling in the sun.
34 oval yellow diamonds weighing approx. 32.42 carats total (0.95ct each). Overall weight approx. 23.50 grams, made in 18k yellow gold, 7 ins long. Circa 21st Century.
